There is plenty to explore in Bowen and popular activities include snorkeling, fishing and sailing. Bowen is a prime spot for swimming, snorkeling and diving, the vibrant reef can be explored by simply walking out off one of the many bays dotted around the coast.

You will be amazed at the marine life and fringing coral found right on our doorstep. For breathtaking views there are several lookouts that can be reached on foot offering fantastic 360 degree views of the town and surrounding Whitsunday Islands. Bowen has a long and rich history and holds the title of North Queensland’s oldest town.

A trip to the Bowen museum will allow you to discover the heritage, settlement and industries of this diverse region. The town also celebrates its timeline with over 20 murals painted on various buildings depicting Bowen’s colourful past. For the more adventurous our region offers jet skiing, sailing, kayaking, fishing and much, much more. And don’t forget a trip to Bowen isn’t complete without a visit to the ‘Big Mango’.
